So what have I been up to on my week off? Frankly, not up to much. I wish I had a good reason for not posting, but I don’t. I haven’t done much this week at all. And, while that make be boring to some, I’ve been catching up on some much needed R&R: lying in bed for most of the day, indulging in Starbucks, and getting plenty of massages.
But, despite this lazy week in Hong Kong, I have had burst of excitement and activity. On Wednesday, I got on a ferry and went to Macau (the Las Vegas of Asia) to see a performance of the Cirque de Soleil. My friend in Macau knows most of the performers and was able to score free tickets. It was fab! Unfortunately, the show doesn’t permit any photo snapping, so there is no eye candy for your viewing pleasure. Sorry!
Yesterday, which was the official start of the Chinese New Year, was a gloriously sunny day in Hong Kong, and thus perfect for exploring. So, with a few friends, I took the MTR over to the section of Hong Kong known as the New Territories, which is where the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery is located. So what’s there? Umm, well, ten thousand Buddhas, I guess. Peep the pics! It’s yet another destination worthy of a visit if you are ever in Hong Kong.

@Chizzy: it's been pretty crisp and chilly (with daily highs between 14-19 degrees celcius and lows in the low teens or single digits)!
@Crystal: Thanks! We were really lucky with the weather- it's been really beautiful lately, but cold! As for the dog, lol! We were wondering if he was alright but we checked and he was just sleeping… You are right to be concerned for him though! They eat dogs on the mainland, but they breed a different one for eating… Gross.
@Mil: Almost at 100% again!! And while the sun has been out way more than usual, winters are pretty grey here 🙂 so just trying to take advantage of the sun while it's around…
