If you think a visit to Universal Orlando is only for kids, you’d be sorely mistaken.  Because not only is visiting the theme park a great option for adults, travelling to Universal Orlando Resort is also a fantastic idea for a couples vacation!

I recently spent a romantic weekend at the park with my husband and we had an excellent time, eating, exploring, and experiencing the rides and attractions (obviously)! After a wonderful three days spread across Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay, I am bubbling with ideas and recommendations for how to spend time with your significant other there.  Thus, without any further ado, here are four romantic date night ideas at Universal Orlando Resort for couples!

  1. Take a nighttime stroll along the CityWalk

If you’re seeking a night out on the town with boo or bae, look no further than Universal Orlando’s CityWalk.  Known colloquially as the “Epicenter of Awesome”, this 30 acre boardwalk has all the ingredients necessary for a great date night. There are bars, restaurants galore, and entertainment options spanning everything from karaoke to cinema. Heading to the CityWalk is also the perfect choice for couples who are up for anything (and perhaps not too great at making advance reservations *points at self and laughs sheepishly*).  There’s loads of fun to be had, and there’s nothing more romantic than strolling the strip hand-in-hand with your special someone.

 

  1. Have a romantic Italian dinner at Mamma Della

Mamma Mia!  If you have a hankering for Italian cuisine, Mamma Della will transport you to Italy quicker than you can say “pasta”.  Located at the Portofino Loews Hotel (itself a mini-replica of Portofino, Italy), you and your partner can canoodle over a steaming plate of pappardelle or spaghetti.  If Mamma Della doesn’t mesmerize you with its live performers singing classic Italian songs as you eat, you’ll surely be hypnotized by the sights and smells of the massive blocks of Parmesano Reggiano cheese constantly being wheeled by your table.  A stop here is the perfect complement to your couples vacation at Universal Orlando Resort!

  1.  Go on some big scary rides

There’s nothing more romantic than snuggling up to your honey on a scary ride, am I right?!  Part of the excitement of a visit to any theme park is going on rides, and the rollercoasters at Universal Orlando most definitely serve up big thrills.  While naming the scariest rides at Universal Orlando is highly subjective, The Incredible Hulk is often lauded as the biggest and best in the entire resort!

 

  1. Visit the wondrous Wizarding World of Harry Potter

While most date nights with the one you love are bound to be magical, a date night at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will fill you and your partner with wonder. Couples vacations to Universal Orlando aren’t complete without a nighttime visit to Diagon Alley for example: with the crowds mostly gone and the lights casting a beautiful glow over the landscape, you’ll be dizzy with awe!  Sharing a butter beer and taking couples photos in front of Hogwarts Castle are great ways to make memories with your sweetie.

And there you have it, my recommendations for romantic date nights at Universal Orlando Resort! Travelling with your significant other is such a blessing and the perfect way to spend quality time with your boo while fulfilling your wanderlust.
