O Canada.
It’s summer time in Canada, baby! I am in pure, unadultered bliss: school is out for summer! I have 60 consecutive days off! I am travelling!! And thus I love life. I finished work on Friday, June 18th, and promptly got the heck out disgustingly sticky Hong Kong the day after. So I have been back in my home and native land since just over a week ago and I have been living life to the fullest on this short but sweet trip. After a harrowing 14.5 hour flight from Hong Kong (which doesn’t even include the hour that we spent on the runway due to mechanical issues with the plane), I arrived in sunny, temperate Toronto last Saturday and hit the ground running. I have been busy catching up with old friends, visiting all of my old haunts, and have been out at restaurants eating all of my favourite dishes that I can’t find in Hong Kong). This, combined with jet lag, laziness (I’m on summer vacay, yall!), and the old computer and painfully slow internet at my mom’s house (even surfing the internet is a chore), has resulted in a blogging hiatus of sorts. But trust that I have tons of stories and pics to share. Toronto is gorgeous; we have had blue skies 7 of the 8 days that I have been home, and the air is clean and fresh. Walking outside and not having my make-up melt off and large pit stains because of profuse sweating has been a dream! However, the G20 summit taking place here (which has meant that most of downtown Toronto has been shut down for security purposes) is not. However, that has done little to dampen my spirits! I am having a great time!
But alas, my visit is nearly at its end. I leave Toronto on Thursday for two days in Iceland on my own (must book accomodation and tours for that leg of my trip!) and then move on to London on Saturday evening where Liebling will pick me up at Heathrow airport and we will begin our summer Europe tour. So excited! I love summer!
