One thing that I absolutely ADORED about Seoul was the wide avenues and tall buildings. I am a big city girl. Love the lights, love the hectic pace. Seoul had all of that- there was definitely a vibe in the streets, particularly at night, but the city somehow managed to maintain a certain peace. Unlike Hong Kong, where the frenetic pace and huge amounts of people result in lots of elbowing, traffic, and a ridiculous amount of noise, I found the people in Seoul to possess an enviable amount of poise, peace, and grace. People were EXTREMELY nice and very helpful even though most of them don’t speak English. This allowed me to enjoy the landscapes and the sights, all of them gorgeous, especially at night.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell
and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
