Hong Kong is visually stunning, even moreso at night.
This is night-time in Hong Kong: tall buildings surround you and the neon lights affixed to these imposing structures are nothing short of blinding. There are people everywhere, as numerous and as busy as an ant colony. They talk and move restlessly, frenetically; recklessly stepping into your way so that you must bob and weave and forcefully steer your way to your destination (forget about negotiation). The volume is at a near unbearable level — amongst the loud voices talking on cutting edge smartphones with screens large as iPads, there are horns blasting as broad buses clumsily navigate a sea of toy cars. They all angrily belch black smoke, and the traffic is viscous and slow-moving as molasses. Come to think of it, you probably have difficulty breathing: the pollution is thick enough this evening that it feels like you’re sucking air through a straw. Then again, maybe, just maybe, you pant with excitement. Because the atmosphere is charged and pregnant with possibility.
Hong Kong is home. I love this city.

you’re living the life. Hong Kong air is still wayy cleaner than Beijing. But the country sides, outside kowloon and such is cleaner and less populated. a nice place to spendt the afternoon.

Totally agree with you! Normally I hate arriving in new destinations at night because it’s so discombobulating, but our flight from Hong Kong arrived late at night and it actually felt perfect. The city is so beautiful with all the lights, it feels like a completely different world than during the daylight hours. Love it!
I arrived in HK late at night..most places were closed in the Jordan area, where I stayed. A couple of blocks from the Night Market. I walked around, found an obscure underground restaurant to eat in. Only native Chinese were there eating, although, it probably was a tourist joint because they had menu’s with photos. When I appeared the ENTIRE eating patrons stopped what they were doing.. in mid action.
Chop sticks in air, mouths open, eyballs popping, etc.. it was HILARIOUS! I guess they weren’t expecting a black female stopping by for some chow at 2am in the morn!
Once, the shock wore off.. I picked a photo from the menu.. said “coke”.. and was off and eating!
BTW, they were surprised to see that I could use chop sticks.

Mumbai is the only answer to this question – it’s renowned to be a city that sizzles through the night. I am not a big fan of night-outs but Hong Kong looks cool!

In answer to your question, London at night is my favorite (so far). I really fell in love with that city! Hong Kong reminds me of pictures of NYC. So many people!!!
