Lovely Berlin Weather

BY ONEIKA RAYMOND

This was Berlin yesterday.

Sunny, fresh air, and a surprisingly warm 10 degrees celcius.
I was feeling pretty impressed by the weather, I mean, it’s late December! Last time this year there was heavy snow.

Anyway, I felt great until I saw what a friend in Hong Kong posted on Facebook:

21 degrees in Hong Kong.

I guess I’ll shut up now.

How warm is it where you are?

  • Its looking like it might get to a max of 33 deg today here! Its a bit chilly now though and the low is 11 so I'm thinking its somewhere in the middle. V humid and damp though. Berlin looks stunning in that ?afternoon light!

  • 50 degrees. No white Christmas here. (Which was kind of a good thing 🙂 )I'm close to Chicago, IL, good 'ol US of A.

  • I'd happily take your +10 right now. It's like -10 here in Toronto, but it's been snowing so everything is white and pretty.

  • About the same here in Norway. It has been a surprisingly mild winter so far. We barely had any snow for Christmas! And the little we did get has long since melted away. Not that I'm complaining. I don't mind snow. It's the iciness I don't like, having to watch where and how I walk lest I fall and break my rump. I only like winter when I plan to go skiing, otherwise I can live without it.

  • @PAPS: Right back atcha!

@Little Gumnut: What?! So majorly jealous. Berlin is gorgeous but gimme your heat!

    @Danielle: Thanks! To you too!!

@Jamila: Seems like it's a mild winter over there, too! My friends in Toronto say they are experiencing the same thing for now!

@Jules: Wha?! Okay, I JUST wrote in the comment above that friends told me it was mild in the t dot. It's snowing? Since when??! Crazy!!

@Shells: I'm not complaining either! Hoping that it stays this way! I also hate black ice though. I'm accident-prone so always manage to find ice patches and fall!

  • It was a beautiful 14 degrees here in Nice today 🙂 So many walkers/joggers along the Promenade with only tshirts on! Your blog inspires the traveler in me… you were exactly where I am a few years ago. It gives me confidence that I can keep traveling in the future and not let my wanderlust die. Joyeux Noel et Bonne Fête à vous!

  • Hello, I couldn't help responding to this one as it's about the mid seventies in South Florida…and I'm a little chilly…gonna go get my sweater now…lol..btw, I love your blog. You're an inspiration.

  • It's COLD here in Canada land, today not as bad in the day at -2 or 3.

  • @Molly: Salut! Que je suis jalouse! Il fait toujours beau a Nice, c'est pour ca que j'adore la ville! Tu es assistante d'anglais a Nice, c'est ca? Je crois que tu m'as envoye un courriel il y a quelques mois! Alors raconte! Tu t'amuses bien ou quoi?

@dtfamu89: I'm crying tears of joy and jealousy as I type this. Thanks for calling me an inspiration! Glad you like the blog! As for you and your chilly 70 degrees… Let's just say I wouldn't mind switching places right now hee hee.

@Melissa: I can imagine! Is there snow on the ground then? How is the BF coping with the cold?

  • We are in Tampa with 24C. We r usually "cold" this time of the year (between 5-10C maybe even 0). Berlin @ 10 C must b great!! Did u see the pics in the equator line? I was thinking of ur Greenwich post when I wrote it.

  • Happy New year!
Not a fan of snow unless I am cosy and warm indoors so that weather looks and sounds great!

  • Haha, I've been doing the same! I'd think how unseasonably warm it was in England, and then my dad would read the paper and tell me it had been 33C in Santiago. Now I'm back in the heat no, so no complaints from me.

  • @Molly: Ouais je passerai 3 jours a Nice au mois de mai! Si t'es la ca serait sympa de prendre un cafe- je t'enverrai plus de details plus tard pour qu'on puisse s'arranger pour se voir… si t'es partante! 🙂

@catae: I did see the pics and I commented I think! I would love to go to Ecuador and see it for myself! Maybe next year 🙂

@sprite: Me neither!! Happy New Year!

@Emily: Lucky girl! One of the most difficult parts of moving to Europe was leaving behind the scorching winter temps of Asia!

  • I WOULD LOVE TO GO TO BERLIN IT MUST BE SO AWESOME THERE!!!

  • @J Fizzle: You should!! But probably better to go in the summer!

  • Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and everything. However think about if you added some great photos or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips, this blog could definitely be one of the best in its field. Good blog!
