Paris: Eiffel Tower Shenanigans

BY ONEIKA RAYMOND

A trip to Paris just isn’t complete without a few corny photos in front of its best known monument, the Eiffel Tower.

Don’t you just love optical illusions, no matter how ill-conceived and poorly executed?

For the record, we did take a few nice photos in front of the iconic phallic symbol:

Do you like to take “silly” pictures in front of monuments when you travel?  Or are me and Liebling the only ones with no shame?!?

Psst! Don’t forget to “like” me on Facebook if you haven’t already! Your support is much appreciated!

  • The third one of Leibling cracks me up! I'm not usually keen on being photographed, however there are hours of video footage taken in Istanbul of me doing normal things and effortlessly managing to look ridiculous. Come to find out that my friend gave the clips to her digital media class to edit. According to her, they were highly amused, but I'm still not.

  • Very nice pics!!!!! 🙂 I want to go back to Paris and eat lots of nutella crepes

  • Haha, those are awesome! Especially the van picture — that takes skill!

  • I like to try and do an interpretive dance pose in front of monuments. Like in front of the Taj Mahal, I acted the part of the dome and my friend was one of the pillars.

    I love these those.

  • I have. It is just my nature. But I find when I am traveling it's almost if I am the only doing it and the person taking the pic (if they aren't known to me) they don't find it amusing. But I love to do it. Yours are super cute. When I finally visit Paris, I will DEFINITELY do it!

  • I'm just like you- it's my nature to take silly photos! Can't wait to see your crazy Eiffel Tower pics!

  • Did you take a video?! Would love to see that! I'm also fond of jumping photos in front of monuments.

  • I don't know if you've noticed, but L HATES being photographed. It's only for silly photos like the one above that he doesn't mind. Being filmed is a whole nother story though, I like being in front of the video camera but it's true that it's easy to look crazy since video is very unforgiving!

  • Lol! Thanks these have cheered me up enormously!
Oh..and love those over the knee boots too.

  • I really really like these photos – beats the usual 'pose' in front of the Eiffel Tower! Wish I'd thought to do something like this when I was there last year! Next time…

  • Ha ha! I love this post!! It looks like you had a ball. People laugh at these corny photos but I really enjoy photos of people holding the pyramids by their point or cupping the setting sun in their hands. 🙂

  • Really now? I may hit you up about that. I've come up with an idea for a master thesis project (actually, my friend and I have been talking about the idea for 2-3 years now. The footage taken above was shot for a pilot), which involves video and web. If it's green lit, I'd love to do a bit on you.

  • I have shame, but Rodolfo would be right there with you guys 🙂

  • Love those!!! I wish I had thought to do that when we were there last month! We have a photo at Stonehenge holding it up but unfortunately that was as creative as we got! I'll have to remember these pics for my next holiday!
