"So what had happened was…"

BY ONEIKA RAYMOND

So, I’m back. I think. Please excuse my absence and slack blog updating skills. I would like to say that my absence is due to the food poisoning/parasite/ameoba thingy that I brought back from Nepal, but alas, it’s more to do with my laziness and lack of interest in updating.

I’ve had TONS of things to say of late, but too little motivation to type them out. But this is my 85th (!) blog post for this year so ultimately I can’t really say that my blogging skills as a whole have been too shabby! Never would I have imagined that I could write so much for something that is non-school/work related. I know that I have picked up a few readers who are not family or friends along the way and I’d like to take this opportunity to say that I appreciate you taking the time to read my blatherings/rants/sometimes poorly structured musings! Thanks! It motivates me to write more! I think I might just try to make it to 100 blog posts by the end of the year (which means that I have just a little less than 2 weeks to write 15 more blog posts since I leave for my Africa trip on the December 19th).

I’ve still got to tell you about:
-Nepal (which was so freaking amazing!)

-My trip to “the real” (read: mainland) China yesterday (on the SUBWAY/METRO! Doesn’t get more random than that) where I only saw the inside of a mall and my trip to Macao a month ago

-My latest run-ins with crazy people here in Asia

-My latest shopping deals (including prescription glasses purchased for less than $20 USD in China yesterday that were chosen and made in less than an hour)

-The trip prep for my upcoming trip to Kenya and Tanzania (and the vaccinations and malaria pills that cost me a bajillion dollars $#@#! argh!)

-Any other HK randomness I care to share

So, with all that being said, as Desi (of “I love Lucy” fame) always said to Lucy, “Chica, you gots lots of explainin’ to do”! And indeed I do, so I’ma get to stepping (actually, typing) and go write these posts so I can get to 100 posts for this year by the end of 2009. Like in an hour. Or maybe tomorrow or the next day after that.

SHARING IS CARING
