Hong Kong has a cornucopia of good hikes, some more exhausting and back-breaking than others. I don’t mind an easy hike in my spare time, so when Liebling was here we decided to do a hike called the Dragon’s Back. Located 45 minutes by metro outside of the hustle, bustle, and noise of Hong Kong’s Central district, the Dragon’s Back hike is part of Hong Kong’s Trail system, and gives stunning views (on a smog-free day) of the waters surrounding Hong Kong islands. The sun was blazing, so I put on my safari hat and thusly looked like the ultimate tourist. Worse still was the fact that Liebling didn’t really think to bring hiking clothes for his visit to Hong Kong, nor did he think to bring sunscreen (London is cold and gloomy right now) so he had to settle for a few mismatched articles of clothing to keep himself comfortable and the sun at bay (including one of my unattractive baseball caps). This hike is highly recommended if you’re in the Hong Kong area! Especially if your pockets are kinda light- the hikes are free. It feels like you’re in a different world.
