As an Emmy Award-winning lifestyle correspondent for NBC New York and host of Travel Channel’s Big City, Little Budget and One Bag and You’re Out, Oneika inspires us to live our best lives at home and abroad. A bona fide travel junkie keen to share her insights from around the world, Oneika also appears regularly as a travel expert on CTV Canada’s Your Morning and The Social. Her adventures have taken her to over 120 countries on 6 continents.
In addition, Oneika is an accomplished writer with more than a decade of digital and print media experience. Her work has appeared in a wide range of publications, including Condé Nast Traveler, Oprah Magazine, Ebony Magazine, and Marriott Bonvoy Traveler.
She is also the voice behind the highly respected OneikaTheTraveller.com, where her articles examine travel and exploration through the intersections of race, politics, and privilege. In 2018, the site won a Gold Medal for Best Travel Blog in the prestigious SATW Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition.
A fierce supporter of women who travel, Oneika is co-author of the book Wanderess: The Unearth Women’s Guide to Traveling Smart, Safe, & Solo, which will be published in Spring 2022 by Penguin Random House’s Clarkson Potter Imprint. She’s also given keynote speeches at the Women in Travel Summit and at Women’s Travel Fest. In 2019, Oneika was named Wanderful’s Creator of the Year, and in 2017, she was honored with a Voices of the Year (VOTY) award at BlogHer, one of the premier conferences for women in digital media.
