My Epic Year of Travel in 2016: 365 days, 27 countries, 5 continents

2016 was an exciting year of discovery for me. Find out why.

Happy New Year everyone!

There are no words to describe the EPIC year of travel that was 2016, so I decided to make a video…

I travelled through 27 countries on 5 continents, making it my busiest year of travel ever. I was constantly on the go, despite holding down a “regular” job for the first six months of the year.

(Sidebar: Yes, globetrotting with a 9-5 is possible! I taught 7th, 8th, and 9th grade English to a delightful set of teens from January to June.)

It was the culmination of a lot of hope, hard work, and fortune.

The amazing experiences I had are too many to name, though off the top of my head I count jumping off of a bridge, going on a solo Round the World Trip, swimming on the edge of Victoria Falls, sleeping in a yurt, bathing with elephants, and riding a camel through the Gobi Desert amongst my most memorable moments this past year.

I use my platform to educate, inspire and show you how you can live your best life abroad, so I hope this video encourages you to book that trip you keep putting off!

Because while I show you the world through my eyes, the ultimate goal is that you go see it through your own.

In other words, I want to plant the seed.

So with that, I leave you with this recap, and hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.

This took me AGES to compile and edit, so if you’re digging it, show a sista some love and feel free pass along to other wanderlusting souls who might need inspiration or a nudge… πŸ™‚

2016 was challenging in many ways, but beautiful in so many others.

Here’s to realizing travel dreams. Here’s to adventure. Here’s to the magic that happens when you say “yes” or “why not”.

Here’s to living out loud, fiercely and unapologetically.

Happy New Year, y’all!

Of all the destinations featured in this video, which is your favourite? And what’s on your travel wishlist for 2017?

Haha I totally know where that Dominican Republic pigeon scene happened! I saw a girl posing in her (neon green!) quiΓ±ce dress with them while I was there.
