I spent a few days in Yangshuo, China in October 2010. I was all smiles here, little did I know the tragedy that would befall me days later.
In the pic, I´m enjoying the fine weather, and the great company of friends. We were taking a boat ride along the Li River, in awe of the greenery-covered peaks you see behind me. But, only mere hours after this, I ate something that would have me literally on the wretching, writhing, and crying (in public, to boot) a few days later. I got food poisoning and was horribly ill! Funny to look at this picture where I am grinning hard and unsuspecting!

Yes I have! Ugh. Got food poisoning in West Africa. No bueno…
No, so far I have been lucky… but when we do this kind of travels we have to be super careful and even then… we may catch something…
