Last night, I went to see a movie. But not in a theatre. I went to see a movie on a roof.
Rooftop Cinema HK is a new initiative in the city designed to give to give movie-goers a different experience from your run of the mill mall movie theatre.
The experience of seeing a movie in the open air was exhilarating, even if the film they showed, the 1962 Cantonese language film “In the Mood for Love”, was not. The venue was the rooftop of Hong Kong’s Fringe Club, where numerous stage productions come to life.
The decor was gorgeous, with the bamboo, greenery, and mellow lighting making me feel as though I was ensconced in some sort of tropical lair.
They served popcorn, as well as hamburgers and fish and chips. 
Best of all were the HK nightscapes, which played a starring role. What a jaw-dropping backdrop!

I love outdoor cinemas. One of my favourite dates that IC has ever taken me on was to a movie I was DYING to see in an outdoor cinema!

I love, love outdoor cinemas (and after coming back from HK, I actually rewatched that film!). Whoever started this needs to pass the idea over to Seoul!
