2:58am: *alarm rings. bolts out of bed* “S$#t! Are you really serious!?! Do we really have to get up right now to take the ferry?!? This is some serious bull-s#@t.” *hits snooze*
3:03am: *alarm rings again* “Baby, I’m so tired…Just ten more minutes…” *fall back into bed in a sleep-induced stupor*
3:07am: “Yeah liebling, for real now, I’m going to get up. No time to take a shower though…Screw it, no time to put in contacts either. What time does the ferry to Macau leave again?…What time do we have to get the the ferry pier?” *curse silently under breath*
3:11am: “Where is the Vietnam guide book?? The one I was supposed to bring but is still on the table at my apartment? ….D’oh!”
3:12am: *cursing under breath while looking at liebling and shrugging shoulders* “Yup, I am a screw-up. Bah.”
3:17am: *more cursing under breath* “Why is it so bloody cold outside? What is up with this weather? Why are we even out here at this hour?!?! Why didn’t we just spend the bloody money to fly out of Hong Kong instead of taking a bloody ferry to Macau, then taking a cab to the airport over there and flying out of there!!??!? arrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhh!”
4:10am: *still more cursing under breath while trying not to throw up* “Wow, the ferry ride is really kind of rough today…”
4:15am: *huge commotion on the ferry in Chinese between a ferry employee and passenger complete with screaming, hand-waving, and other histrionics* “Well, at these all this noise is distracting me from thinking about how nauseous I feel!” *looking on at the brouhaha with mild amusement*
5:00am: “Why the heck aren’t there any taxis here?! It’s freezing out here! Isn’t this a taxi stand?! Don’t they realize that we all came off of the ferry and are waiting for taxis?!? Why is it so cold?? This is Asia! It’s supposed to be warm goddamit! Ridiculous!”
6:20am: “Why are they blasting the air con in the airport when it’s 20-below outside?! aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh !@#$@#$%@#$”
7:20am: “Man, this plane is ghetto.”
8:00am: *whispering to liebling while looking at the couple seated beside us in disgust* “Ohmigod! Look at that couple! That little Asian girl can’t be more than 16 years old… What is it with this older White dudes in Asia and their obsession with young girls?! Damn shame.”
9:00am: “Landing wasn’t too bad. Thank god we didn’t crash.”
9:30am: “We here!”
So yes, we are here. Vietnam seems cool. The beach that we’re at however, is kind of ugly. But the weather is great. The hotel resort we’re staying at is amazing, and spending quality time with Liebling is even better! Having a great time and will update with pictures soon.
